I am trying to set up my grid such that I can grid snap every 1/2 inch. No matter what I try, I can't get grid snap finer than 1 inch increments. Attached are screen shots from relevant Drawing Preferences tabs.

Re: Grid Snap at 1/2 inch increments
Hi,
Did you try below Unit settings "Imperial" instead of "Metric"?

Work smart, not hard: QCad Pro
QcadPro, QcadCam, Win11/64, 64GB RAM, 10-Core, SSD

Re: Grid Snap at 1/2 inch increments
Hi, and welcome to the QCAD forum.
I can't replicate your problem (3.32.4.0 Win7 32bit)
Your settings would set up a Grid with a minimal Grid size of 1/2 inch and a minimal Meta Grid of 12 inch.
Note that Grid settings other than auto are minimum values.
Zooming in, the Grid size won't drop below 1/2 inch.
Depending on an Application Preferences, the Grid/Meta Grid automatically adapts to the zoom state or are fixed.
When fixed it doesn't scale when zooming in/out, it is then always 1/2 and/or 12 inch apart.
If the minimal screen spacing is reached, it will be turned off to not clutter your entire screen.
Perhaps your current zoom state is much deeper than 1/2 inch screen-wide or much too wide for e.g. 10 pixels apart.

CVH

Is for Hatch and Linetype patterns and has no influence on the Grid/Meta Grid.
